A New Stepfamily Resource

Over the years, step family resources ministry and biblically-based resources for stepfamilies have been few and far in between. The need is tremendous, and our society is growing in what now seems like the new traditional family, blended families. As a ministry, it is our mission to break the cycle of divorce, equip marriages, and unite blended families with the truth of God’s word. Our vision is that every blended family would have a local church home where each member of the step family can receive support and equipping, both spiritually and physically.

This has been a long-time passion project for us and, while not an easy journey, very intentional. A large portion of the people we come in contact within day-to-day life have been through a divorce and/or are remarried and working on blending their family. For some, that may not mean a whole lot, but those of us who know what blending a family involves know that there are families everywhere struggling to find peace and unity in their homes. The process of two groups of people with different habits, personalities, expectations, communication methods, baggage, hurts, and histories trying to get on the same page and learn to love one another is full of hurdles that traditional families do not experience. All of that, on top of navigating co-parenting, custody agreements, and working to give children a sense of normalcy as they live two separate lives between their parents’ homes, blended family life often feels overwhelming in ways that, to the people who experience it, seem impossible for other people to understand. These families are in need of community, support and encouragement, and resources. We saw the need; we felt it and ventured where few have dared to go.

We believe that blended step family resources ministry is the greatest untapped opportunity for the church. We believe this is a much-needed resource for a demographic that is so often overlooked by the church, we want to come alongside pastors and ministry leaders to share insight and offer a resource to help equip them as they steward the blended families in their congregations.

Blended families are becoming more and more common, but that doesn’t make them any less complicated. The question they often find themselves asking is, “how and where does one even start to look for resources and community for families like ours?” We’ve been there, we understand, and that is our heart behind writing the book, “Blended & Redeemed, The Go-To Field Guide for the Modern Stepfamily.” We have poured our hearts into bringing firsthand knowledge, tools, and resources to millions of blended families around the world with this book.
